What is Fat Freezing?

Coolsculpting  is also known as Cryolipolysis or fat freezing.

It works by cooling fat cells to the point of almost freezing. Fat cells freeze at a higher temperature to the cells in other surrounding tissues, which allows CoolSculpting to safely deliver precisely controlled cooling to fat cells underneath the skin without damaging the surrounding tissue.

The treatment causes the fat cells to crystallise and undergo natural apoptosis. Over time your body naturally processes the fat and reduces the number of fat cells, leaving you with a more sculpted physique.

The fat-freezing procedure is FDA-cleared, a non-surgical fat-reduction treatment that uses controlled cooling to reduce stubborn fat that resists all efforts through diet and exercise. The results are proven, noticeable, and long lasting.

What will happen during a Fat Freezing session?

A thorough consultation will be carried out to determine your suitability to treatment, medical history and your  expectations of the treatment.  Photographs will be taken to document your starting point.

You will then lay on the couch whilst we attach and program the Fat Freezing machine. Treatments take 1 to 2 hours depending on the area that we are treating. After treatment, the area will be massaged.

When will I see the results?

We advise that you will begin to see improvement from 3 weeks onwards, although ongoing improvements can continue for up to 6 months as more fat cells are filtered from the body.

Are there any side effects?

Most people will not experience any side effects and return to normal activities immediately. However, redness of the skin or erythema can occur for a few hours after the treatment and in some cases last for a few days. Temporary numbness  can persist for around a month in some cases, although it usually disappear much sooner.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on the area being treated. We recommend between 3 and 6 treatments. Treatments should be taken 6 – 8 weeks apart.

Should I follow any special diet after treatment?

You can return to normal activity immediately after your treatment – it is entirely non-invasive with no downtime. You do not need to alter your eating or exercise habits after your treatment but we recommend a balanced diet and exercise program. However, we do ask that you follow a low carbohydrate and protein diet for 24 hours before and after your treatment to allow for fat cells to be flushed out through your body.

How much will Fat Freezing cost me?

Usually a course of 3 to 6 treatments is needed, although additional treatments may be required to meet your desired outcomes.

Lipo Cavitation uses Ultrasound to convert fat cells within the body to liquid that can be filtered and removed by the body’s own lymphatic system.

Lipo Cavitation can be used alone, or integrated between Fat Freezing appointments to maximise fat loss.
