Laser Hair Removal
What is IPL/Laser Hair removal?
Laser hair removal is a cosmetic procedure that uses a powerful laser or ‘intense pulsed light’ (IPL) to remove unwanted hair.
This light source heats and destroys hair follicles in the skin, which disrupts hair growth. Common areas to treat are the face, legs, arms, underarms and bikini line.
What will happen during my treatment?
The area of skin to be treated will be shaved prior to commencing the treatment.
You’ll wear specially designed goggles to protect your eyes during the procedure.
Our professionally trained laser expert will apply a cooling gel to the area and a hand- held device will be pressed against your skin triggering a flash of light onto the surface of your skin.
After the treatment, your skin will be a little red for 24 hours.
Please note that you will require a patch test 48 hours prior to your first treatment.
Is IPL Laser Hair Removal safe?
Clinical trials documenting the safety of IPL treatments were carried out by leading medical professionals prior to the release of the treatment, and these were published in respected medical journals.
What areas can I have treated?
Laser treatment works well on the darker hair. Lighter hair, or hair with no pigment can be difficult to treat and can leave disappointing results.
Any hairs that contain melanin , on most areas of the body, can be treated.
How many treatments will I need?
Your hair goes through a growth cycle and only the hairs in this growth stage can be destroyed by the heat. It is important to undergo regular treatment to ensure that all of the hairs have been targeted.
We advise a minimum of 6 treatments for effectiveness.

Pigmentation & Sun damage
IPL treatment is one of the most advanced treatments for removing unwanted pigmentation on the skin such as age spots, sun spots, and freckles.
Sun spots, those brown spots and patches that appear on the skin after years of fun in the sun, can be effectively removed with an IPL (intense pulsed light) device. Sun spots, which include age spots, liver spots, freckles, and other benign pigmented lesions resulting from sun-damage, can be removed from nearly any body area. Most commonly we treat sun spots on the face, arms, hands, chest and back. Brown spots and freckles that cover large areas of skin are probably best removed by IPL treatments. Laser and IPL removal of sun spots can significantly enhance your skin’s appearance.
How many treatments are required to remove sun spots?
Five to six IPL treatments are usually required to remove sun spots, freckles, age spots, and other types of pigmented lesions.
How long is a treatment session?
The treatment time depends on the number of sun spots to be removed. Typical treatments are 15 to 30 minutes per session.
Will the sun spots be permanently removed?
Sun spots removed by our laser usually are gone for good. New spots may appear in previously sun-damaged skin as the aging process continues. On-going exposure to the sun will likely create new spots, particularly in those that freckle or burn easily. Brown spots not caused by sun-damage may gradually return with time following laser or IPL brown spot removal.
How can sun spots be prevented?
The incidence of sun spot formation can be significantly reduced by limiting sun exposure. Avoid sun-bathing and always wear sunscreen (SPF-30 or better) when outdoors.
How do I get started with removing sun spots?
The first step is to schedule an appointment with your own doctor. The doctor will examine your sun spots and give us approval to proceed with treatment if the spots appear to be benign. Spots that appear potentially cancerous will not be treated with the IPL.
How much does laser sun spot removal cost?
The price for pigmentation removal starts at £20 per treatment.
